Small place, Big ego!

Don't really see why so many people were so fascinated by the Airbus A380 which made its appearance and flight display last week at the Asian Aerospace (AA)! Ron and Sunny, you guys are not alone in wanting to catch a glimpse of the giant before it turns operational later this year in our tiny but arrogant airport. Here's a picture of it taken by Adeline when she visited on a DSTA visitor's pass.



What actually caught my attention among her AA photographs was the "upgraded M113". Look at that armour shell over the cupola. Finally someone has decided that it is operationally too dangerous (and hence untactical) for the VC to stand unprotected in the cupola navigating the vehicle and firing the 40/50! That's during wartime. During regular peacetime training, I wouldn't want to be operating in one of these because the VC would no longer be able to sit on the cupola frame and enjoy the breeze above the oven-like compartments underneath.
